Pentel 209P is my new favorite.
“storage” event is fired when another window that shares the same storage area (localStorage or sessionStorage) updates that storage area.
For myself:
Email enumeration attack.
It’s when an attacker can check if an email exists in a system (for example, on password reset forms, with “There’s no such email in the system” error messages).
“The killing of a sacred deer” - I was doubt whether I should watch it or not, but when I finally did, I blamed myself that I haven’t watched it earlier.
This movie forced me to think about what happened here, but it was worth it.
Back-forward cache (bfcache) in browsers.
You can use persisted property to check if a page has been loaded from the bfcache:
window.addEventListener('pageshow', (event) => {
if (event.persisted) {
console.log('This page was restored from the bfcache.');
} else {
console.log('This page was loaded normally.');
}
});
A really good blogpost.
The idea is that you can use separate pages instead of creating interactive JS-powered elements.
Link.
The song of the day: Morphine - Saddest song.
The list of good notebooks:
Just watched “Squared problem”. Dark, heavy, but hasn’t bet “No Mercy” in that sense.
Just listened to the “Look outside your window” album. I don’t understand why so many people say it’s raw and unfinished.
It’s not polished well, maybe, but it’s definitely far more than “raw.”
Migrated the landing page with notes to Github pages.
Need to migrate blog also, because I realized short microposts are better for my English level.
Non-blinking cursor in Sublime Text is something beautiful. It also has slightly increased height, unlike default cursor in VSCode.
Another one proof for me that Sublime Text, generally, is the GOAT.
I’ve watched 70 episodes of a series from 2005. It’s a shame but I’m going to watch it all untill the end.
One thing I really, really like in Obsidian is that it doesn’t have the “save” button. You just write, and that’s all.
Listening: Mike Love - Rain or Shine.
Never heard about “Analog Horror” before. Started digging deeper.
Yesterday I wrote all my “very important” notes from a mobile notes app to a paper notebook, in half a hour. Why? I don’t know.
I noticed that listening to music by albums and not different tracks makes me like that music more.
The last example: I listened Coil’s ‘Love’s secret domain’, in one take, and I love this album. Previously I listened some of the tracks from it, and I can’t say that I liked them.
Finally listened all Slipknot albums, and, to my surprise, I liked them all.
Created a single list of movies I want to watch and it’s so huge that I’m scared even to choose one.
Just found out that if an image has loading="lazy",
it won’t be requested if it’s not visible (display:none).
The track that I can’t drop from my head for a three days in a row:
Revenger (OST The Punisher on Sega Mega Drive )
Checked smartphone screen time yesterday - ~ 2.5 hr per day 😱
Ok, ok, I thought enough about this - I’ll get a T-Shirt with “Terrifier” print.
Tomorrow I’ll go to theatre. :/
It’s so hard to try other package managers whey you’ve been working only npm :/.
Have stolen a lot of ideas for the personal page from muan.co.
Current thoughts: Cash vs Credit card - 1:0.
The next week is going to be a reading week, and no computers.
I’m not an EDC freak, but now I always carry a flashlight (olight i3e-eos) and a knife (small SanRenMu) with me.
GOOD DAY TO YOU, SIR
Legend has it, that a man by the name of Roger Tellenfield was walking by one of his friends one day. His friend looked over and said “I am having a good day”. Roger was having a horrible day so he pulled out a gun stuck it to his own head and said “Well good day to you sir” and shot himself. Since then this phrase has been used by many as a good way to end a fight or a good way to say good bye.
I Read about this legend in a translator’s note (Russian) in the “Sea of Poppies” book.
On vacation. I even forgot how to type.
Watched “The International”, very liked it.
I wonder how much there’re good movies I would like, but still don’t know about their existance.
I Have a prepared list of movies to watch, but I’ve spent almost hour to pick one already.
Bought a Macbook Air M4 16GB/256 two weeks ago.
Since then, I love this device.
Lightweight, superior battery life, performant.
